ESRC is one of the seven UK government Research Councils. ESRC is the UK's leading funding agency for research and training into social and economic issues. It supports high quality research and training by awarding grants to researchers and postgraduate students throughout the UK.

ESRF - European Synchrotron Radiation Facility

The ESRF is a multinational research institute in Grenoble, France. It operates a powerful source of light (mainly) in the X-ray range of the electromagnetic spectrum, and is a large experimental facility for basic and applied research in physics, chemistry, materials and life sciences. EPSRC provides support for the ESRF on behalf of the UK research councils. EPSRC support for the ESRF is coordinated through Cross-Programmes Group.
